Supports for specimens

SB-AP - Support for small specimens and cantilever beams

SB-AP support allows the characterization of small specimens and is suitable for materials with dimensional constraints, for example, glasses, biomaterials and amorphous metals.

Note: ASTM 1876-15 standard specifies the use of foam arrangements as an alternative to support samples; however, it may interfere significantly on the damping characterization and slightly on the Young’s modulus calculations. The interference on Young’s modulus is negligible (<0.1%) for materials with Young’s modulus higher than 50 GPa.
